About Me

The bass player and drummer are the heart of the band, the groove that drives the band. A good bass player can push the band past mediocrity into greatness. Playing bass is about finding the pocket with the drummer. Sometimes, it is not how many but how few notes you play. The space is as important as a great riff. I have played guitar or bass for as long as I remember. Bass became the focus because everyone wanted to be the guitar here. But without the bass, guitar can be an empty home. A long the way I played electric and acoustic guitar developing a more rhythmic style to complement bass and drum playing. On bass I played acoustic, fretless, and five string electric. lately I have added keyboards and soft synths to the mix as well. By playing in bands, taking theory and jazz classes I became familiar with most styles of music. On the other side of the stage I have ran sound, produced and promoted local shows and concerts. So I have seen both sides of the musician’s life. Today it is about creating good quality and fun music.

When I am not making music, I dabble in graphic design and web coding. Starting out 20 years ago before web coding was a common skill, I started creating web sites for non-profits, friends and various companies I have worked for. Along the way I developed skill in ecommerce, shopping carts, email, social media and now live streaming direction and editing. My design work ranges from simple event flyers to building out custom sites with integrated ecommerce options. Each project is geared to the needs of the client an what is best for that person, not about how fancy, high tech, or expensive it can get. Treat people well and everything works out.
